Health Interpretation Services
The Cultural Health Information and Interpreting Service, (CHI-IS) helps improve communication between people from various cultural backgrounds and health service providers by delivering accurate, impartial and confidential interpretation.
CHI-IS has interpreters available 24 hours a day. They can be paged any
time by dialling 425-5532 in the metro area. They assist in bridging
the communication and culture gap between health care providers and
clients, helping them make informed decisions about their care.
CHI-IS has translated many different health information resources into different languages such as Arabic, Serbo-Croatian, Persian, Chinese, and Korean.
